About the courses

What courses does Edvisor Academy offer?

Two online courses. The International Education Agent Training course is the full program — 11 units covering the Australian education system, the role of an agent, enrolment processes, customer service, lead generation, ESOS and the National Code, the Agent Code of Ethics, compliance practices, visas and an introduction to migration law. The Agent Fit (Compliance Package) is a concise five-unit course focused purely on compliance.

Which course is right for me?

If you want to start a career or business as an International Education Agent, choose the International Education Agent Training course — it covers the whole role and gives you access to the Student Referral Reward Program.

If you already work in an agency and simply need to meet the compliance requirements placed on agents under Standard 4 of the National Code 2018, the Agent Fit (Compliance Package) gets you and your consultants Agent Fit in 2–3 hours.

Do I need any qualifications or English test results to enrol?

No specific qualifications or language requirements apply to either course. You will need basic computer skills, and we recommend English language skills equivalent to IELTS 5.5.

Is a licence required to work as an International Education Agent?

No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to the International Education Agent Training course at the time of publication. Institutions do, however, expect their agents to understand the ESOS Act, the National Code 2018 and the Agent Code of Ethics — which is exactly what the course covers.

What can I do after completing the course?

Graduates have a pathway into any International Education Agency as a Consultant. Possible occupations include Education Agent, Career or Course Consultant, Course or Career Advisor, Admissions Officer, Student Services Officer and Counsellor. Graduates can also apply to become an EdAgent Alliance Partner.

Studying online

How is the course delivered?

100% online and self-paced, through the Edvisor Academy Student Portal. Intakes are daily, so you can enrol today and start straight away. The International Education Agent Training course takes around 20–25 hours; Agent Fit takes around 2–3 hours, depending on your English level.

How am I assessed?

Each unit is followed by a short multiple-choice assessment. Course resources include online content, student activities and readings, video presentations and online assessment.

How long do I have access to the course?

You will be given a log-on to the Student Portal on commencement (payment) of the course, with access for 6 months.

What do I receive when I finish?

An Edvisor Academy Certificate is issued on successful completion of all assessment. For the full course this is the Edvisor Academy Education Agent Training Certificate.

Earning and referral rewards

What is the Student Referral Reward Program?

From commencement of the International Education Agent Training course, students are financially rewarded for all successfully referred student enrolments — Schools, ELICOS, VET, Higher Education and more — as per the EA Student Referral Terms and Conditions.

How much can I earn?

Referral Rewards are based on a percentage of the commission received from partner institutions, and vary between 50% and 75% depending on the number of student enrolments.

When can I start referring students?

Straight away — the program applies from commencement of the course, so you can earn while you learn.

EdAgent Alliance partnership

What is EdAgent Alliance?

EdAgent Alliance (EA) is a business-to-business partnership where you can learn and grow as an International Education Agent. Partners receive a commission share on successful enrolments, access to our web-based Application Management Platform, a support team and mentors, free professional development courses and regular institution and industry updates. Read more on the Partnership page.

What do I need to become an EA Partner?

Edvisor Academy graduates need proof of identification, business registration/ABN and their Edvisor Academy International Education Agent Training Certificate. Non-Edvisor Academy graduates need an interview, proof of identification, business registration/ABN and an approved Education Agent Training course — e.g. PIER Qualified Education Agent Counsellor Certification or ICEF Agent Training Course Certification.

When is an enrolment counted as successful?

An enrolment is deemed successful when the student receives a letter of offer, accepts the offer, pays their tuition fees, receives a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), commences their studies and passes their institution’s census date.
